Board Listens to Its Members

In response to the concerns and wishes expressed by Cobb FC's Members, at its Thursday, April 26, 2007 special meeting, the Board elected to drop its previously published reorganization proposal and unanimously adopted the following resolutions:

RESOLVED, that going into the 2007/2008 fiscal year the Club will adopt an organizational chart with a DOC overseeing both Academy and Select Programs utilizing a Girls and Boys Academy Directors and reporting to a Coaching Committee selected by the Board of Directors. The DOC will also work alongside the Recreation Director in creating a curriculum and working with the U-8 and U-10 Recreation Players. Our Recreation Director will report to the same Coaching Committee as the DOC. The compensation package presented for these positions will not exceed what has been presented in the proposed budget.

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the President of the Club is authorized and directed to use his best efforts to retain Steve Gummer as the DOC, Sean Chamberlain as the Girls Academy Director and Dan Pietro as the Boys Academy Director, provided the compensation package offered for these positions shall not exceed the compensation for these positions set forth in the approved budget.

The 2007/2008 budget was also adopted at the special meeting of the Board and the Board also expressed a strong desire to retain the exisiting coaching staff if possible.

Thank you again to all of you who took the time and effort to communicate your concerns to the Board, both in writing and in person. The Board very much appreciates the fact that you care enough to get involved.

You came, we heard, we listened . . .

Let me offer, on behalf of the Board of Directors, a thank you to
those who came to make their feelings known on the controversy
surrounding changes in the structure at the club. Your input was
valuable and appreciated.

After a long night of discussion and deliberation, there was a "no
decision" decision. That means that the conversations continue. If
this were a decision easily made a quote "rush to judgment" could have
happened months ago. We would hope the fact that we are still
discussing this four months after the initial conversation is indicative
of how seriously the board approaches this subject. We will meet again
next week Thursday and pick up where we left off. During the interim,
we shall continue to function as we have over the past year.

We are aware of the urgency of the matter and will move forward with
all deliberate speed.

You may choose not to believe this, but we wish to thank everyone for their e-mails on this subject. There have been several issues raised and we would like to address some of them with more information to come as we move forward.

Coaches:
All coaches currently under contract to Cobb FC are going to be offered renewals. Unless your coach decides to leave your team for another, you should expect to see them back next year. We strongly support our current staff and hope to add more quality coaches in the future.

Academy Directors:
With regard to Dan Pietro and Sean Chamberlain, specifically, they will be given the option to remain where they are or to accept greater responsibilities within the club due to their success in their current roles. We consider ourselves a very fortunate club to have such fine coaches on staff and wish to offer them an opportunity to “grow.�

This year's Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the membership will be
held during our "Final Whistle" ceremonies May 12th at 1pm in front
of the concession stand on Tramore field # 2. The agenda for the
meeting will be available within a few weeks.

Elections for the club board of directors will commence very
soon. Should you be interested in running for one of the 5 open
